There is something very exciting happening at Suncrest! We've added a ministry specifically designed for fall fifth and sixth graders. This ministry, called Team 56, is a valuable addition to Student Life Ministry (SLM) that will better serve our young middle school students as it bridges the transition from GO! Children’s Ministry to SLM. Team 56 is an opportunity for these students to connect with each other in small group settings while cultivating their relationship with God using age-appropriate teaching. In addition to weekly programming, there will be quarterly events that will challenge students to grow in their faith.

What will my child learn in Team 56?
Student Life Ministries follows the same message series as adult worship roughly 80% of the time. Team 56 will do the same. This means that the Big Idea (main teaching theme) in Team 56 will often be the same as what is presented in adult worship. This consistency brings students and parents together as they share with each other their perspectives on the same topic. The remaining lessons that do not coincide with the adult Big Idea will be designed specifically for this age group.
What will a Team 56 class look like?
Team 56 will be structured to give the students ample opportunities to grow as 4 C Christ-followers. Upon entering the Team 56 area, students will join in with a small group (Huddle) and participate in some type of activity encouraging students to connect with each other and the Huddle leader as they build friendships. These Huddles will be inviting to new friends as each group works together during this time (Care). The teaching component will be done in a large group setting as the Big Idea Teacher presents the lesson of the day. These lessons are designed to get the kids into the Bible while learning to apply these truths to their own life (Cultivate). The class will end with each Huddle sharing Communion, prayer, and giving back to God (Cultivate, Contribute, Care, Connect).
