Greg has served Suncrest since 1996. He loves the vitality and authenticity of this church. Greg’s passionate about making sure that Suncrest is never focused on itself more than others and is most energized when people find their way back to God here.
We've designed our church to help each person grow in the qualities of a Christ-follower. To learn more about...
Getting Started at Suncrest ~OR~
Connecting in relationships where truth meets life
Contributing by Serving
David came to Suncrest after spending almost 20 years in an agricultural business in Illinois. "It took God a while to get my full attention; fortunately, He did not give up!" David enjoys travel, genealogy, reading, and really funny comics. He and his wife, Linda, have one daughter who "keeps life interesting and challenging". David loves working with the Contribute by Serving ministry because he has seen how excited and blessed people feel after they have served. He is the Director of Contribute.
Caring about People Far from God
Doug is from Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plain. In other words, he feels at home in the windy environment of Northwest Indiana. Doug is married to Sheila and has five children: Ethan, Daisy, Grace, Benjamin and Lydia. As one of the pastors, he loves to share in the teaching on Sunday morning. "I love helping people discover, and sometimes rediscover, how life-changing Jesus is." Doug enjoys reading, movies, music, and running (except in winter). Doug serves as the Hobart Campus Pastor, and oversees Suncrest's outreach effort.
Andy is crazy in love with his wife Rachel and their three children, Grace, Silas, and Zalia. “If I’m with my fam, I’m in my sweet spot.” He’s a product of Lincoln and Huntington Universities and just wrapped up a NewThing Leadership Residency at Suncrest. The Kaser’s are excited to come alongside God and Suncrest for the latest ‘mission’ – the South Bend Campus. Andy loves the beach and hot weather, yet still finds himself (in God’s humor) living in the “lake-effect tundra” of South Bend! He’s a die-hard fan of “the teams that stink lately” (Indiana, Notre Dame, Cubs, and Bears), and re-lives his glory days playing softball and coaching Si’s basketball and baseball teams. Says Andy, “I just want to communicate truth by unveiling the unbridled heart of Jesus. I genuinely appreciate being around people who don't have their lives in order, who are honest about their failures and wonder why God would desire them. I love witnessing stories of tragedy colliding with God’s story of hope.”
Cultivating a Personal Relationship with Jesus
Bobby loves his wife Beka who "is a treasure... super talented and beautiful". They have four children; Mia, Sawyer, Cooper and Elliot. Bobby is driven to help people take their next steps in faith. Next steps sometimes occur through an "aha" moment on a Sunday morning, through a baptism class or a mentoring relationship. These moments are the ones that shape now and into eternity. Bobby also enjoys The Simpsons, volleyball, and food...especially meat...with a side of meat. He is the St. John Campus Worship Arts Pastor.
Wesley is a 21-year-old college student at Cincinnati Christian University from Columbus, Ohio and serves at Suncrest as the St. John Campus Worship intern. He is a lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and exhibits horribly questionable judgment in his decision to continue rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals! Wesley enjoys listening to music, playing on his new Mac Book Pro, eating (especially when Buffalo Wild Wings is involved), and shopping, which probably makes him the manliest guy on staff! He loves to laugh and connect in relationships with other people, has a lot of fun leading worship, and really treasures the experience of leading people to learn what it means to follow Christ. Wesley will soon take on the role of Highland Campus Worship Arts Leader.
Nash is our Hobart Campus Worship Arts Director. He is a lover of people, music, and coffee (especially coffee). He was born and raised in the Land of Lincoln where he attended Lincoln Christian College. In 2006, he transitioned out of school to become a full-time musician with Illinois-based band So Long Forgotten, and later with Michigan-based The Tide. In 2008, Nash moved back to Champaign, Illinois to work in student ministry. Nash joined the Suncrest staff in January 2010 and is very glad to be here, serving and reaching out to people through worship and the arts. He spends his time drinking coffee, playing guitar, listening to way too much music, and trying to figure out LOST, as well as laughing with The Office and Community. You can usually find him glued to a TV most of the month of March, as he is a huge college basketball fan.
Children's Ministry (Infant - 4th Grade)
Debby loves leading leaders who lead kids in the local church and can't imaging doing anything else with her life. She and her husband, Daniel, have been married for more years that she was single, and they have four amazing kids! She loves a good book, a great cup of coffee, and almost anything that is dipped in chocolate. Debby serves as the Global Children's Director.
Sue has been at Suncrest since the beginning. She loves to see kids contribute with a heart and passion for Jesus. Suncrest kids are "good news" to others who don't yet know Suncrest as their church home. She's thankful for Suncrest parents who want their kids to "win" by being connected to those who model the life of a Christ-follower. Sue is a die-hard Cubs fan/bleacher bum! She is our St. John Campus Director of Children's Ministries.
Sheila serves as the Interim Hobart Campus Children's Director. Homeschooling her kids, reading, watching movies, getting out in nature, and doing fun things with family and friends is how she spends most of her time. Her claim to fame is that she has five kids and her husband is Doug, the campus pastor for Hobart. Being a mother of five, children’s ministry is VERY important to Sheila. She wants every child, including her own, to come away from church knowing that Jesus loves them deeply. She wants every child to feel like church is home; that they are cared for, safe, and secure. It is Sheila's personal desire that every single child comes away from church experiencing Christ in a way that changes their life and forms a lasting relationship with Him.
Student Life Ministry (5th - 12th Grades)
Jared is an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and Starbucks addict. He and his wife, Amy, have two children: Gibson, the comedian, and Alyce, the compliant audience. In addition to the Cardinals and Starbucks, Jared enjoys sports talk radio, hanging out with his friends, playing softball in the summer, and trying to teach Gibson to catch. Jared serves as our Highland Campus Pastor and Director of Student Life Ministries.
Brendon is a die-hard sports fan, absolutely almost any sport, although his favorites are baseball, soccer and golf. He loves being with people of all ages. Brendon is married to an amazing woman named Amanda, who keeps him in line! He's also a Starbucks addict and enjoys really good food. He loves watching the Red Sox whenever he can, as well going to baseball games. Brendon serves as the St. John Campus Student Life Pastor.
